2012-13 (Junior): Posted a sixth-place finish at the PSAC Outdoor Championships in the javelin with a personal best throw during her third season with the Raiders…surpassed her previous career best by more than three feet…competed six times during the outdoor season...also surpassed her previous personal best with a 124-foot throw at the Bison Outdoor Classic.
2011-12 (Sophomore): Qualified for the PSAC outdoor championships in the javelin for the second consecutive season…placed 12th at the conference meet…competed six times during the outdoor season…established a new outdoor PR throw of more than 122 feet at the Washington & Lee/VMI meet.
2010-11 (Freshman): Made her debut as a javelin thrower in her first season with the Raiders…placed eighth at the PSAC outdoor championships…established her PR at the Paul Kaiser Classic from Seth Grove Stadium…competed seven times in the javelin during the outdoor season.
Penncrest High School: Earned eight varsity letters for the Lions under coaches Mike Clark and John Loan…received All-Delco Second Team honors…was a PIAA state qualifier…achieved a PR of over 124 feet…competed in the high jump when not throwing…also played soccer…received honorable mention in soccer from the Central League following her junior season.
Personal: Full name is Lauren Marie Merk…is the daughter of Gregory and Charlene Merk…majoring in exercise science with a minor in coaching...played on the SU women’s soccer team…has two sisters: Katie and Kelly.
