2011-12 (Sophomore): Placed second at the PSAC outdoor championships in the javelin with a 133-foot throw…achieved her first All-PSAC honor…landed her PR throw of more than 137 feet at the Bison Outdoor Classic…earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors for her effort…competed six times during the outdoor season.
2010-11 (Freshman): Made her debut as a javelin thrower in her first season with the Raiders…placed fifth at the PSAC outdoor championships…established her PR at the Paul Kaiser Classic from Seth Grove Stadium…competed seven times in the javelin during the outdoor season.
Penncrest High School: Competed in track and field and volleyball for the Lions… finished second at districts and seventh in states as a senior, earning All-Delco First Team honors…was a district and state finalist in the javelin as a junior...totaled four varsity letters in volleyball…earned All-Delco Second Team honors as a junior and senior in addition to honorable mention as a sophomore…primarily played right side and served as a defensive specialist.
Personal: Full name is Ashley Marie Merton…is the daughter of Stanley and Carol Merton…majoring in criminal justice…competed as a freshman with the volleyball team…has a sister, Nicole, who plays volleyball.
