Loch Raven High School: Won two Class 1A state championships in the triple jump with the Raiders...earned All-Maryland Third Team honors as a senior…competed with McKim Track Club under the guidance of coach Garfield Thompson at the AAU Junior Olympics, placing fifth out of 61 competitors with a mark of 48 feet 7 inches, and eighth out of 25 competitors at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals…placed second in Baltimore County during his junior indoor season in the high jump and with the 4x400-meter relay squad…also played football and basketball.
Personal: Full name is Steve L. Waithe…is the son of Steve Waithe Sr. and Ann Marie Waithe…major is undeclared…has two brothers – Stann and Stevann – who ran for Michigan, and a sister, Anneve, who competes in track & field at Wake Forest…brother Stann also competed in the Olympics for Trinidad & Tobago.
