2011-12 (Junior): Maintained her status as one of the team’s leading distance freestyle swimmers in her third season with the Raiders…achieved new PRs in the 500 and 100 freestyle events…served as the team’s No. 3 swimmer in both events for the season…posted SU’s second-fastest mile time during the year…qualified for the PSAC Championships in multiple events.
2010-11 (Sophomore): Continued to work as a distance freestyle swimmer for the Raiders…placed 13th in the 1,650-yard freestyle at the PSAC Championships with a time of 17:58.61…thrived in the longer distances during the season…posted significant improvement in several events with new PRs in the 500 and 1,650-yard freestyles…achieved all of her season PRs at the conference meet… swam all six distances of freestyle for the second consecutive season.
2009-10 (Freshman): Competed as a distance freestyle swimmer in her debut season with the Lady Raiders…placed 15th in the mile at the PSAC Championships (18:10.12)…contributed to the 800-yard freestyle relay that finished fifth at the PSAC Championships…ranked No. 3 among SU’s milers…posted Top 5 team times in the 500 and 1,000-yard freestyle events…swam all six distances of freestyle during the season.
Abington High School: Earned four letters under head coach Joe Lennon… named captain during senior season… holds the school record at Abington in the 200 freestyle relay record… named team MVP her sophomore and senior seasons… won the Wendy Lee Garbutt Memorial Award… also competed for the Abington Dolphins club team… high school and club teammate of fellow Lady Raider Sara Small.
Personal: Full name is Alayna Rosemary Ryan… is the daughter of James and Carol Ryan…majoring in exercise science.
