Shippensburg University Athletics

2011-12 (Senior): Redshirt season…competed unattached at 133 pounds in the Mat-Town Open and the “Shorty” Hitchcock Memorial Classic.

2010-11 (Junior): Earned All-America honors in her first season with the Raiders… placed fourth at the 2011 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships to achieve All-American honors and become SU’s first lightweight All-American in five years… finished his debut season at Shippensburg with a 22-10 record at 125 pounds – a mark that includes wins in 16 of his last 20 bouts…took second place at the NCAA Division II Super Region I tournament, winning three matches before dropping a one-point decision on the finals…posted a 10-3 record in duals…earned bonus points in four matches with one pin, two technical falls and one major decision.

2009-10 (Sophomore): Wrestled to a 10-6 record in tournaments while serving as Pittsburgh’s No. 2 wrestler at 125 pounds for part of the season…turned in two wins by fall including a fall in 33 seconds, which was the fastest time on the team…also had one technical fall and two major decisions.

2008-09 (Freshman): Went 5-10 as a true freshman while wrestling in open tournaments at 125 pounds…registered two falls, including a 55-second pin of Ray Kelly (Notre Dame College) at the Cleveland State Open...placed sixth at the Kent State Open with a 2-2 record that included one fall.

Middletown High School: Earned four varsity letters under coaches Tony Griffin, Mike Nauman and Matt Grube...finished high school career with a 134-33 record…qualified for PIAA ‘AAA’ State Championships in all four varsity seasons…placed fourth at state championships at 119 pounds in 2007 and fifth in 2008…twice was the PIAA ‘AAA’ District 3 Champion at 119 pounds in 2007 and 2008…twice was champion at section competition in 2005 and 2007…named a First Team Mid Penn Conference selection during all four varsity seasons from 2005 to 2008…also wrestled for PA Premium club team and head coach Cham Som.

Personal: Full name is Christopher David Kochinsky…is the son of Davis and Lisa Kochinsky…majoring in mid-level/elementary education focusing on grades 4-8.
