2012 (Freshman): In his debut season with the Raiders, Bennett ran in five races – four at 8K and the season opener at 6K. He established an 8K collegiate personal best of 27:38 at Gettysburg and finished within 12 seconds of that time at Lock Haven’s River Run.
Elk Lake High School: Bennett tallied 11 varsity letters in cross country and track running for the Warriors under coaches Will Squier and Marc Weisgold. He earned All-Region cross country honors as a senior and was a state medalist with his school’s 4x800-meter relay squad during his junior year. His school won PIAA ‘AA’ state championships in cross country during his freshman and junior seasons. Among his specialty events were the 800 and 1,600 meters. Bennett also was on the honor roll.
Personal: William Curtis Bennett is the son of Chris and Elena Bennett. His major is exercise science. Bennett has two siblings: Cody and Keaton.
