2011 (R-Freshman): Armstrong became a scoring runner for the Raiders coming off his redshirt season, competing in six races overall. After serving as the team’s No.3 runner in the SU Piper Alumni meet, Armstrong went on to again be the team’s No.3 runner in the Gold Race of the Paul Short Invitational. His 8K PR was set at the PSAC Championships with a time of 26:39. At the NCAA championships, Armstrong was the team’s No. 5 runner and established a 10K PR of 34:47.

2010 (Freshman): Armstrong completed a redshirt season in cross country. During the track season, Armstrong was a PSAC indoor qualifier in the mile and a PSAC outdoor qualifier in 1,500 meters.

Perkiomen Valley High School: Armstrong totaled eight varsity letters for the Vikings under coach Ben Giess. He was a three-time all-conference cross country competitor, earning first-team honors as a junior and senior. As a track runner, Armstrong was a PIAA medalist as a junior with a 3,200-meter time of 9:22.26. His PR in the 1,600 is 4:19, set as a senior. Both marks led to all-conference recognition. Armstrong was also a part of a first-team all-conference squad in the 4x800-meter relay as a senior.

Personal: Scott Michael Armstrong is the son of Scott and Laurie Armstrong.  He is majoring in communication/journalism with a concentration in public relations. Both of his parents are alums of Shippensburg; his father was a member of the Raider track team.
