2012 (R-Sophomore): Took advantage of an opportunity to become a mainstay in the secondary...appearing in 12 games and making 11 starts for the Red Raiders in his second full season on the field...named the Shippensburg VFW Defensive MVP of the Homecoming game after recording a career-high seven tackles and making a significant impact on pass defense with multiple pass defenses...picked off passes against Cheyney and Bloomsburg, returning his interception against the Huskies 30 yards...amassed an impressive 13 passes defensed, tied for most among the secondary...ranked eighth on the team with 51 tackles (37 solo)...contributed to tackles for loss in games against West Chester, IUP and both games versus Bloomsburg...surpassed his career high from earlier in the season with nine tackles in the PSAC Championship game versus IUP.

2011 (R-Freshman): Totaled 17 tackles – including 15 solo – in his first season on the field for the Raiders…started the first six games of the season…recorded four pass break-ups, including two at Gannon…totaled five tackles in each of the first two games of the season…notched four tackles at C.W. Post.

2010 (Freshman): Redshirt season.

Franklin High School: Pulled in 45 receptions for 480 yards with 106 rushing yards and five touchdowns…led the Indians with seven interceptions while making 85 tackles on the defensive side of the ball…earned an All-State honorable mention honors and was a First Team All County selection as a senior….made First Team All Division as a junior.

Personal: Full name is James Douglas Cooper…is the son of Judie Horn…majoring in geoenvironmental studies…has a sister, Samantha, and brother, Kenny.
