Biography

2010-11 (Junior): Was once again a workhorse and veteran leader for the Raiders while wrestling at both 184 and 197 pounds…posted an 11-6 record in tournaments and a 17-18 overall record…placed third at the “Shorty” Hitchcock Memorial Classic competing at 184 pounds…earned fifth-place finishes at the Clarion “Knightpoint” Open and the PSAC Championships as a 197-pound competitor…picked up bonus points in five matches, including two pins and three major decisions.

2009-10 (Sophomore): Stepped into the role of heavyweight…wrestled 25 times overall…posted a solid 6-8 record in dual meet competition…had one victory by fall and one major decision…competed at the PSAC Championships and the Super Region I Championships…participated in tournament competition at the Washington & Jefferson Open and the ‘Shorty’ Hitchcock Memorial Classic.

2008-09 (Freshman): Made his debut for the Red Raiders at the lower weight class of 165 pounds…earned two victories and one major decision at 165…defeated Waynesburg’s Jon Sanko by a 10-1 score in an exhibition match…took to the mat for seven matches during the campaign, including competition at the Washington & Jefferson Open and the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Classic.

Littlestown High School: Finished as a 2008 PIAA state qualifier and was the District 3 runner up as a senior at Littlestown…won the 2008 section 1 AA champion as a senior…competed in the YAIAA for head coach Dave Bowersox…also played football and was a team captain.

Personal: Full name is Tyler Paul Zittle…is the son of Mike and Susan Zittle…majoring in criminal justice…brother Matt attends Shippensburg.
