Shippensburg University Athletics

2011-12 (R-Junior): Posted a 14-6 record for the Raiders at heavyweight in his second year at Shippensburg University…competed in dual meets for 19 of his 20 matches…won his first five bouts of the season and began January with another five-bout win streak…achieved bonus points with a major decision over a SIU-Edwardsville wrestler and a technical fall against a wrestler from Thaddeus Stevens…missed the final portion of the season due to injury.

2010-11 (R-Sophomore): Made his debut with the Raiders and was the anchor at heavyweight…competed in 32 bouts during the season, tied for second-most on the team…finished third at the Clarion “Knightpoint” Open…placed sixth at the PSAC Championships…narrowly missed a placewinning performance at the regional championships but had to default due to injury…posted a 22-10 record…compiled an impressive 14-6 mark in duals…achieved four pins and two major decisions…won six of his last seven bouts in the regular season.

2009-10 (R-Freshman): Finished his first collegiate season at Edinboro University with an 11-9 record while wrestling strictly in tournaments…recorded one win by fall and one major decision over the course of the season...finished third at the East Stroudsburg Open and Messiah Open and sixth at the Edinboro Open. 

2008-09 (Freshman): Competed as an unattached wrestler at Edinboro University.

Mechanicsburg High School: Earned four varsity letters as a Wildcat under coaches Burt Cashman and Roger Barrick…finished prep career with a 101-40 record…was the first wrestler in school history to amass 100 career wins…still holds the record for most win at school…finished sixth at the PIAA State ‘AAA’ Championships in 2008…twice named to the Mid-Penn Conference’s All-Conference team and once as a second team honoree…also played football for the Wildcats.

Personal: Full name is Daniel Blair Estricher…is the son of Lary Estricher ’74 and Lynn Fleisher-Estricher…majoring in history…father played football at Shippensburg.
