Biography

2010 (Sophomore): Solidified status as one the nation’s best defensive players in second season with Raiders…named a NFHCA First Team All-American at defense…selected to the All-PSAC Western Division First Team squad at defense…started all 23 games…was an integral back line player for offense and defense…valuable hitter on penalty corners…scored 10 goals…posted team-high 12 assists, ninth-best per game mark in the country…ranked third on team with 32 points…had game-winning goals against Slippery Rock and Bloomsburg…contributed at least one point in 14 games…posted a season-high four points in four of the first five games of the season…scored twice against Kutztown and Slippery Rock…achieved multiple assists against Southern Connecticut State and Seton Hill…fired 48 shots on goal…named to the NFHCA Division II National Academic Squad.

2009 (Freshman):
Exploded onto the scene as an impact player in her first season with the team…voted a Longstreth/NFHCA Division II Second Team All-American…named to the NFHCA Division II National Academic Squad…selected as the PSAC Western Division Rookie of the Year in addition to being an All-PSAC Western Division First Team pick…immediately became a shutdown defensive player with a knack for chipping in offensively…routinely swept the left side of the field…patrolled the point on penalty corners…scored six goals…two of those were game-winners…three of those goals came in the postseason…finished second on the team with seven assists…started all 23 games…converted the team’s only successful penalty stroke…fired 37 shots on goal…made a defensive save against East Stroudsburg in the NCAA playoffs.

Cumberland Valley High School:
Earned three letters as an Eagle in the Mid-Penn Conference’s Commonwealth Division under head coach Patrick Weigle…also competed with the East Coast club team…led the Eagles in both goals and assists in 2007 and 2008…named a Mid-Penn Conference All-Star in 2007 and 2008…honored as a member of The Carlisle Sentinel’s All-Star team in 2007 and 2008 and a Patriot-News Honorable Mention All-Star in 2008.

Personal: Full name is Ashley Rae Taylor…is the daughter of Todd ‘89 and Jodi ‘88 Taylor…majoring in accounting…brother Jeremy graduated in May and was a member of the SU soccer team.
