2012 (Junior): Shank emerged as SU’s No. 3 runner with a productive season for the Raiders. She earned All-PSAC honors with a ninth-place finish and All-Atlantic Region honors with a 12th-place finish. Running on the fast Lock Haven course, Shank established a 37-second 6K PR by completing the regional meet in 21:35. She was a Top-75 finisher at the national championships. Her first race of the season featured a seven-second 4K PR at the Piper Open/Alumni Challenge on the home course, an event in which she finished 12th overall. For her academic success, Shank was named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team. During the track seasons, Shank was a PSAC indoor qualifier in the mile, 3K and 5K.
2011 (Sophomore): In her second season with the Raiders, Shank broke through as a scorer with her production at the end of the year. At the NCAA regional meet, Shank turned in an impressive 23rd-place finish in 23:24. The performance allowed her to make the lineup for nationals, where Shank was again the team’s No. 6 runner after posting a sub-24 minute 6K. Her 36th-place finish at the conference championships was a new 6K PR by 63 seconds. Earlier in the year, Shank was the team’s No. 4 runner in the gold race at the Paul Short Invitational. She also finished ninth at the Division II Challenge. During the outdoor track season, Shank placed sixth in the 5K at the PSAC championships. Indoors, Shank was a conference qualifier in the 3K and 5K.
2010 (Freshman): Shank competed in five races for Shippensburg as a freshman in 2010. At the Dickinson Invitational in her second race of the season, Shank ran a 6K PR 24:08, which made her the third Raider finisher. She later ran a 24:54 in the 6K at the Gettysburg Invitational, good for sixth on the team. During the track season, Shank was a PSAC outdoor qualifier in the 3K and 5K.
Hershey High School: Shank accrued 12 varsity letters for the Trojans under coaches Al Fricke and Kevin Stover. In cross country, Shank was a four-time state qualifier and won a district medal as the team’s No. 1 runner. Her leadership was rewarded with a Coaches Award and the Tim Russel Award.
