Shippensburg University Athletics

2010 (Freshman): Appeared in 23 games and made 17 starts for the Red Raiders in his debut season…rotated between second base and shortstop…totaled nine hits and six RBIs…scored seven runs…stole six bases…drew seven walks…laid down six sacrifices…had multiple RBIs in two games…went 3-for-4 with a triple, three RBIs, two stolen bases and two runs in the second game of a doubleheader at IUP.

Shippensburg High School: Earned four varsity letters as a Greyhound under the direction of head coach Dan Watkins…named to Mid-Penn Conference all-star teams all four seasons while at Shippensburg…posted a .357 career average at the plate in four high school seasons…participated in the Keystone State Games as a member of the Capital Region team…was a member of the Newville Cardinals West Shore Twilight League team and played for the Shippensburg American Legion Post 223 team during the summer…also played soccer and basketball while at Shippensburg.

Personal: Full name is Zachary Reese Piper...is the son of Galen and Susan Piper…majoring in criminal justice…father Galen ’79 is a former cross country and track coach at Shippensburg and a member of the Athletics Hall of Fame who currently works on campus as the director of intramurals and recreation.
