Biography

2009 (R-Junior): Continued to impress as a regular member of the secondary for the Red Raiders…transitioned to a safety spot after serving as a cornerback for two years…overcame early injury in season-opening start to get starting spot back for the final five games of the season…appeared in 10 games overall…ranked ninth on the team in tackles…intercepted two passes for a total of 23 yards…totaled 29 tackles, including 18 solo stops…broke up three passes in the final five games of the year…recovered a fumble against East Stroudsburg…picked up a tackle for loss and made five solo stops against Kutztown…had five more tackles the next week against ESU…picked up three solo tackles at Cheyney and against Cal in the State Game…picked off a pass in the NCAA playoff match against Cal and returned it 22 yards.

2008 (R-Sophomore): Earned a starting role at cornerback with impressive athleticism and dynamic defensive ability…started all 10 games in which he appeared, missing just one to injury…compiled a career-high 24 tackles from the secondary, 18 of which were solo stops…had a career game against East Stroudsburg, notching seven solo tackles, one pass break-up and one interception…returned the interception against the Warriors for 18 yards to set up SU’s first touchdown of the contest…tallied five unassisted tackles in season opener against Shepherd including one tackle for a five-yard loss…forced and recovered a fumble against Edinboro…recorded two tackles and three assists against C.W. Post, including a tackle for a loss of three yards…registered at least one tackle in nine of his 10 starts.

2007 (R-Freshman): Appeared in all 11 games for Shippensburg and made three starts at the end of the season at cornerback…finished with 13 solo tackles and 20 total tackles for the year…made six solo tackles and one tackle assist against IUP on November 3…intercepted a pass against Lock Haven and returned it 42 yards, the lone interception return of the season…compiled at least one tackle in nine of the 11 games on the campaign…recorded one pass breakup during the season…forced one fumble against IUP that was returned 13 yards by Andy Casale…recovered a fumble against Kutztown on September 15.

2006 (Freshman): Redshirt season.

Randallstown High School: Two-year letterman…played for head coach Albert Howard…named Baltimore County All-Star Honorable Mention…led the team in tackles, tackles for loss and fumble recoveries as a senior…played linebacker, cornerback and safety…also played tight end on offense where he caught six touchdowns in 2005…member of the 3A North Region champions in 2004…team captain as a senior…also lettered twice in lacrosse and once in wrestling.

Personal: Full name is Jamahn Omar McCullough…is the son of Gregory and Pamela McCollough…majoring in communication/journalism with a minor in coaching…father played fullback at Bowie State in the 1970s…brother Jamari played football at the University of Maryland.
