2009 (Junior): The third-year Raider distance runner maintained his role as an integral member of the cross country squad. He impressed as the team’s No. 2 runner in the Paul Short Invitational, posting a collegiate cross country 8K PR of 24:56. At the start of the season, Stetler finished third in the Alumni 6K meet as the team’s No. 2 runner. In the PSAC Championship meet, Stetler served as SU’s No. 4 runner. He finished 16th at the regional meet with a cross country collegiate 10K PR of 32:21. After the cross country campaign ended, Stetler had a stellar track campaign. Indoors, Stetler won the 3K and placed second in the 5K at the PSAC meet. During the outdoor season, Stetler won the PSAC outdoor title in the 10K, shattering his PR with a time of 30:40, and placed fourth in the 5K just one day later.

2008 (Sophomore): Stetler had a breakthrough season for Shippensburg in cross country and track and field. During the fall, Stetler emerged as an all-region candidate by scoring in all seven meets in which he competed. He finished the 8K PSAC Championship course as the team’s second-fastest runner in 25:34 and then served as the team’s fourth-fastest runner at the Atlantic Regional meet with a 10K time of 33:15. Stetler was the team’s second-fastest competitor at the PSU National Invitational and also finished fourth overall at the 8K Lock Haven Invitational. During the outdoor season, Stetler won the 10,000-meter run at the Fred Hardy Invitational, placed third at the PSAC meet in the same event with a time of 31:43 and then finished second in the 5,000-meter run at the PSAC meet with a time of 15:11. Indoors, Stetler finished third in the 5,000-meter run at the conference meet and was a top-five finisher in the 3,000-meters.

2007 (Freshman): Stetler competed in all but one of the team’s eight meets during the season, accumulating valuable experience while progressing his results throughout the campaign. He was the team’s fifth-place finisher at the NCAA East Regionals, competing the 10K course in 32:50. His strongest 8K time of the year came at the Gettysburg Invitational, where he ran a 27:48.52. Stetler was among the team’s top-five finishers in five meets, including a 20:29 time at the Alumni Open that was fourth-best among his teammates. He completed the five-mile NYU Invitational in 28:04 and the 6K Elizabethtown Invitational in 19:52.

Personal: Sean Patrick Stetler is the son of Rich and Sue Stetler and is majoring in history while seeking a social studies certificate.
