Shippensburg University Athletics

As a freshman (2008): Appeared in 33 games for Lady Raiders in her freshman season…showcased her speed by being an important pinch runner, scoring 10 times and also stealing three bases in three attempts…played in left field against Queens (NY) in game one of a doubleheader and had two at-bats, ripping an RBI single in a 10-2 victory…was in right field for game two of the doubleheader and contributed one of the team’s 17 hits…also drew one walk and finished with a .500 batting average in four at-bats.

Before Shippensburg: Participated in four sports for the Bulldogs and was a softball letter-winner under head coach Dan Lazorka… selected to the District 5 All-Star Team in 2007 and earned a Total Player award…was a member of the USA Softball World Series 16U squad that earned fourth place…also was a 2007 USSSA Summer Wrap-Up champion and a 2006 North Penn Eclipse Summer Blowout champion…competed for club team ASA Silver Bullets…played basketball while running cross country and track at Jersey Shore Area High School.

Personal: Full name is Margaret Anne Sander … born on May 19, 1989 in Williamsport … is the daughter of Ron and Sue Sander … desired college major is secondary education or history … is one of eight children…older sisters are Sarah (26), Lindsey (24) and Allison (22), who attends Lock Haven…younger brothers are Evan (15) and Eric (12)…younger sister Veronica is six years old.
