Biography

2011 (Junior): Appeared in 13 games for the Raiders during her third season with the team…primarily played as an attacking player and continued to work on draws…scored six goals…recorded two assists…led the team with 35 draw controls…picked up 14 groundballs…tallied seven caused turnovers…had a multiple-goal effort in a home win over Edinboro…notched a goal and an assist in a triple overtime-win over Seton Hill.

2010 (Sophomore): Made a transition to the field and served as a valuable asset on draw controls for Shippensburg during her second season…started 11 games and appeared in 12 overall…won 18 draw controls to rank among the team leaders…progressed well throughout the season…caused three turnovers…picked up two groundballs.

2009 (Freshman): Made her debut with the Lady Raiders…appeared in one game for Shippensburg…logged 30 minutes in goal…recorded 10 saves and a .714 save percentage.

Upper Dublin High School: Earned three letters under head coach Dee Cross, her mother and an SU hall of famer…achieved First Team All-League, Second Team All-League and First Team All-Area honors during her career…named her team’s most valuable defender…made appearances in the second round of districts as well as the district championships during her career…also competed in swimming and field hockey.

Personal: Full name is Alison Murphy Cross…is daughter of Dee and Sumner Cross… majoring in elementary education while seeking a minor in coaching…has three sisters: Amy, Kelly and Julie…mother Dee (Fichter) ‘81 is one of the greatest female athletes in school history and was among those in SU’s inaugural Hall of Fame class.
