The Shippensburg University women's soccer team dropped a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division road contest against Bloomsburg Saturday afternoon at Steph Pettit Stadium, 3-0.
Shippensburg (1-2-1, 0-2-0 PSAC East) trailed hosts Bloomsburg (1-2-0, 1-2-0) by a single goal at halftime before surrendering a pair of tallies in the second half.
Bloomsburg's Olivia Thompson opened the scoring in the 15th minute following a deft header in the box from teammate Haley Bull. Bloomsburg's Niamh Fanning and Anika Krasnai added to the Husky lead with goals in the 52nd and 83rd minute, respectively.
Bloomsburg maintained an 8-to-1 advantage in shots on goal in the contest. The Raiders edged the opposition in corner kicks for the second straight game (5-to-2) but were unable to turn those set piece opportunities into goals.
Ashley Hughes registered the Raiders' lone shot on target.
Kirstin Brown finished the match with five saves.
The Raiders head back on the road Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Millersville.
