SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's swimming team completed its first dual meet of the 2026-27 season Wednesday night as it hosted Kutztown at Donald N. Miller Pool. The Raiders won three individual events and one relay, but the Golden Bears came out on top by a score of 151-111.
 
Shippensburg got the night started with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay, as Ann Secord, Katherine Green, Izzy Ketterer and Ella Nick teamed up for a time of 1:53.11.
 
Green won two events on the night – the 50-yard breaststroke in 31.77 seconds – and the 100-yard breaststroke out of Lane 6 with a time of 1:09.96 that satisfied the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships automatic qualifying standard.
 
Nick delivered the top sprint of the night in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall first in a time of 25.55 seconds. Green, Charlee Shaw and Nick delivered a 1-2-3 finish for the Raiders in the 50-yard breaststroke.
 
Elyse Arnold, Michelle Kubiak, Caroline Schweigert and Olivia Carver teamed up for a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay that concluded the meet, posting a time of 1:44.39.
 
Carver was the runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle and the 1,000-yard freestyle, while Ella McGuckin claimed third place in both events.
 
Ketterer placed third in the 50-yard butterfly (28.09) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.69); Kubiak finished third in the 200-yard freestyle (2:06.20), and Secord was third in the 50-yard backstroke (30.03) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:06.20).
 
Shippensburg is back in action at home in nine days when it hosts Bloomsburg and East Stroudsburg for a tri-meet at Donald N. Miller Pool.
