SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's soccer team held No. 3 West Chester on level terms for 53 minutes before ultimately dropping a 4-1 decision in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action Saturday afternoon at David See Field.
Shippensburg's (1-4-1, 0-4-0 PSAC East) was undone by a second half barrage of four West Chester (4-0-0, 3-0-0) goals, including three in the span of just 4:32.
Emma Eisenhart pulled a goal back for SU with a strike in the 74th minute.
Golden Ram forward Jordan Nguyen began the offensive explosion with a goal eight minutes after halftime. Kianna Barber added goals in the 54th and 57th minute, and Lauren Reimold netted the visitor's fourth in the 69th minute to put the game out of reach.
Shippensburg's consolation tally was a beautifully-worked goal worthy of besting a Top 5-ranked team's defense.
Eisenhart carried the ball into the attacking third before laying a pass off to
Hannah Menicheschi on the wing. The SU midfielder pulled off a picture-perfect nutmeg to get past her mark and find
Jordan Lytwyn in the box.
Lytwyn pulled off an equally jaw-dropping move, a no-look dime that sent a pair of WCU defenders the wrong direction and opened the door for Eisenhart to slot the ball into the bottom left corner of the net.

Kirstin Brown registered eight saves in net, her second highest-total thus far this season.
Shippensburg returns to action with a midweek matchup at No. 25 Kutztown Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
