SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Six Shippensburg University student-athletes have been selected to the 2025-26 Division II Academic All-District ® Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, an award that recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance in athletics and academics.
The Raiders who were recognized for the 2025-26 academic year are senior
Emily Calamia, sophomore
Shaela Kruskie, junior
Ashley Laukus, senior
Madison Malcolm, junior
Ellie Manyara and senior
Ava Whysong.
Calamia is now a two-time Academic All-District ® honoree. It is the first Academic All-District ® honor for Kruskie, Laukus, Malcolm, Manyara and Whysong.
To be eligible for Academic All-District ® consideration, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and must be enrolled at their institution at the time of nomination either as undergraduates or graduate students.
Academically, an undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a graduate student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.
Specific requirements for track & field include having recorded a Top 50 regional ranking in a single event during the indoor or outdoor season. Relays do not count as an individual event. For cross country, an athlete must have posted a Top 50 finish at their regional meet.
Calamia graduated summa cum laude this May with a degree in civil engineering and a minor in mathematics, having compiled a 3.963 cumulative GPA. Her regionally-ranked performances were the indoor 60, indoor 200, indoor 400, outdoor 100, outdoor 200 and outdoor 400.
Kruskie maintains a 3.74 cumulative GPA through the completion of 64 credits. She is majoring in early childhood education. Her regionally-ranked performances were the indoor mile, indoor 3K, indoor 5K, outdoor 5K and outdoor 10K.
Laukus maintains a 3.932 cumulative GPA through the completion of 96 credits. She is majoring in psychology while pursuing a minor in disability studies. Her regionally-ranked performances were the indoor high jump and the outdoor high jump.
Malcolm graduated summa cum laude this May with a degree in criminal justice and a minor in psychology, having compiled a 3.954 cumulative GPA. Her regionally-ranked performances were the indoor 400, indoor 60-meter hurdles, outdoor 100-meter hurdles and outdoor 400-meter hurdles.
Manyara maintains a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA through the completion of 90 credits. She is majoring in psychology and is a member of the Wood Honors College. Her regionally-ranked performances were the indoor long jump, indoor triple jump and outdoor triple jump.
Whysong graduated this May with a degree in mathematics (statistics concentration) and minors in both biology and data science, having compiled a 3.99 cumulative GPA. Her regionally-ranked performances were the indoor 800 and the outdoor 800.
Each student-athlete is now among those eligible for consideration for the Academic All-America ® Team that will be announced July 15.
The Academic All-District ® Team is selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). CSC honors a maximum of six men's and six women's track & field/cross country athletes from each school.
