SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University was named the recipient of the 2026 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men's Outdoor Track & Field Coaching Staff of the Year award on Thursday afternoon as the Raiders swept all four of the conference's major awards.
Voting for the major awards is conducted by the league's head coaches.
The Shippensburg University staff is led by head coach
Dave Osanitsch, the 2026 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Atlantic Region Men's Outdoor Head Coach of the Year.
Osanitsch is assisted by
Doug Knol (sprints/hurdles), the 2026 USTFCCCA Atlantic Region Men's Assistant of the Year, along with
Steve Spence (mid-distance/distance)
Alison Freas (throws),
Tyler Hewitt (throws),
Sarah Hewitt (jumps),
Kyle Grove (jumps) and
John Pacovsky (throws).
The award marks the 15th time in the last 16 seasons that Osanitsch and Shippensburg have been recognized with the PSAC's outdoor coaching award. It was re-named from Coach of the Year to Staff of the Year in 2023.
The Raiders won the 2026 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship by a 74-point margin, winning eight events (100 meters, 200 meters, 800 meters, 1,500 meters, 5,000 meters, 10,000 meters, 4x100-meter relay, shot put) and achieving place winners in 18-of-21 events.
Shippensburg accrued 211.5 total points, marking the eighth time in league history that a team has scored 200 or more points at the conference championships – all of which have been achieved by the Raiders. SU has now won 32 conference titles in its history – most among league schools – and it is the 16th consecutive year that the Raiders have claimed a blue (first-place) or red (second-place) trophy.
The team was led by 2026 PSAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year
Gabriel Lewis, who set a new all-time PSAC record in the 100 meters (10.03 seconds) in addition to winning the conference's 100 meter title.
2026 PSAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Freshman of the Year
Ke'Aune Green claimed a new conference record in the 200 meters (20.89 seconds) this spring along with a PSAC Championship.
The two major award winners combined – along with
Lavar Jackson and Ni'Male Greenwood – to set the all-time PSAC record in the 4x100 meter relay and earn All-American recognition with a second-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
SU track athletes totaled 145 points at this year's PSAC meet, a total higher than each of the other team scores in the competition. Of the seven track events in which it was victorious, SU amassed 125 points.
The Raiders also featured the 2026 PSAC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year in junior thrower
Gian Greggo. Greggo set an SU record in the shot put with a throw of 59 feet, 9 ½ inches (18.22 meters) to win a PSAC Championship, then topped that mark by nearly 18 inches (61 feet, 2 ¼ inches) to earn a third-place and All-America First Team recognition at nationals.
The Raiders also tied for 18th place in the team standings at the national championships after sending its largest contingent to in terms of number of athletes (eight) since 2015.
