SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University junior Gian Greggo was named the 2026 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year Thursday as the SU Men's Track & Field team swept the conference's four major awards.

Greggo set a Shippensburg school record in the shot put with a throw of 59 feet, 9 ½ inches (18.22 meters) to win the PSAC shot put title.

The PSAC title-winning throw qualified him for nationals as the No. 7 seed, and he went on to earn All-America First Team honors in the event with a third-place finish earlier this month at Emporia State University.

His top throw at nationals measured 61 feet, 2 ¼ inches, achieved on his second attempt and shattered his previous school record and personal best by nearly 18 inches.

In addition to his All-American and Atlantic Region-leading shot put, Greggo finished the 2026 season ranked 12th in the Atlantic in the discus (season best of 154 feet, 3 inches (47.01 meters) and sixth in the hammer (personal best of 187 feet, 9 inches (57.24 meters). At this year's PSAC Championships, Greggo placed fifth in the discus (153 feet, 10 inches (46.90 meters) and eighth in the hammer (159 feet, 5 inches (48.61 meters).

Greggo is the first Raider to win the Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year since Josh Herbster was honored following an all-time PSAC record and All-American finish in the hammer throw in 2024.

Overall, Greggo is the sixth Raider to earn the league's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year recognition, joining Herbster, Bryan Pearson (2018), Derek Nothstein (2017), LeQuan Chapman (2015) and Nate Reider (2007). Prior to 2006, the PSAC awarded one Athlete of the Year award for the entire league.

Greggo was just one of several representatives from 2026 PSAC Champion Raiders to win a major conference award. Junior sprinter Gabriel Lewis was named the 2026 PSAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year, while freshman sprinter Ke'Aune Green was named the 2026 PSAC Men's Outdoor Freshman of the Year. The SU Coaching Staff, led by head coach Dave Osanitsch, was tabbed the 2026 PSAC Coaching Staff of the Year.

Greggo was previously named 2026 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Atlantic Region Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year on June 1.
