SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University junior Gabriel Lewis was named the 2026 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year Thursday as the SU Men's Track & Field team swept the conference's four major awards.

Lewis' record-setting spring was highlighted by his running the fifth fastest 100 meters (10.03 seconds) in the history of NCAA Division II (with a legal wind reading), which he recorded at the SU Midweek PR Bonanza in April. The time also broke the all-time 100-meter record for the Atlantic Region.

Lewis later won the 2026 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship in the same event, posting a time of 10.22 seconds. He entered the national championships as the No. 1 seed and earned All-America Second Team honors by virtue of a ninth-place time of 10.51 seconds.

He also earned All-PSAC honors in the 200, placing third at the conference meet with a time of 21.30 seconds.

As the second leg of Shippensburg's 4x100-meter relay, Lewis earned All-America First Team honors as the Raiders were the runner-up at this year's national championships – placing second with a time of 39.66 seconds. Ni'male Greenwood, Lewis, Lavar Jackson and Ke'Aune Green broke the 40-second mark in four consecutive races to conclude the season – marking the only four times that any PSAC school has broken 40 seconds in the 4x100-meter relay. The group reset the all-time PSAC record to 39.61 seconds during prelims at the conference championships.

Lewis is the first Raider to win the Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year since Drew Dailey was honored in 2024 following an All-American finish in the 800.

Overall, Lewis is the fifth Raider to earn the league's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year recognition, joining Dailey, Charles Bowman Jr. (2019), Dru Adighibe (2016) and Eric Bologa (2015). Prior to 2006, the PSAC awarded one Athlete of the Year award for the entire league.

Lewis was just one of several representatives from 2026 PSAC Champion Raiders to win a major conference award. Junior thrower Gian Greggo was named the 2026 PSAC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year, while Green was named the 2026 PSAC Men's Outdoor Freshman of the Year. The SU Coaching Staff, led by head coach Dave Osanitsch, was tabbed the 2026 PSAC Coaching Staff of the Year.

Lewis was previously named 2026 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Atlantic Region Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year on June 1.
