SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. –  The Shippensburg University softball team had five players earn 2026 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Atlantic Region honors Friday morning.

Caitlyn Martell was a First Team selection. Outfielder
Reagan Bauman, pitcher
Dani Hayward, catcher
Leah Schwalm and third baseman
Emilee Sullivan were named to the Second Team.

All five Raiders are first-time honorees for the NFCA All-Region Team. Â

This is the most All-Region selections for SU since the 2005 season.

It also marks the first NFCA All-Region honors for the Raiders since
Hannah Marsteller was named to the First Team in 2023.

Martell earns her fourth All-Region honor of her career as she is a three-time selection for the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Atlantic Region Team. Â

Through the completion of Thursday's victory in the regional, Martell leads the Raiders with a .401 batting average and 81 hits. Among them are 16 doubles, a triple and eight home runs to go along with 43 RBIs with 44 runs scored. She also drew 16 walks while producing 22 multi-hit games and ten multi-RBI games. Like Bauman, Martell recorded a team-best 15-game hitting streak earlier this season.

Defensively, Martell boosts a .985 fielding percentage. During the regular season, Martell was ranked 18th overall in the league in fielding percentage even when factoring in first basemen, catchers, and outfielders.

Bauman, named to the PSAC Eastern Division First Team as an outfielder, currently ranks second on the team with a .378 batting average. Bauman completed the regular season ranked fourth in the conference in hits (64) and seventh in on-base percentage (.467). Bauman has totaled 21 extra base hits and 36 RBIs. Bauman has recorded 20 multi-hit games and produced a 15-game hitting streak earlier this season.

Hayward was a PSAC Eastern Division Second Team selection this season. The Raider ace had paced the pitching staff with a 28-5 record, including six shutouts, 184 strikeouts and a 2.28 ERA. Hayward leads the conference and is tied for second in the nation with 28 wins. She is ranked second in Division II with 29 complete games and is sixth in innings pitched (209.0).

Schwalm the PSAC Eastern Division Freshman of the Year is the first freshman to receive NFCA All-Region honors since current assistant coach
Emily Goshorn did so in 2011. She was named the most outstanding athlete of the PSAC Tournament after going 9-for-16 (.563) with four doubles, a triple, a homer and 10 RBIs. She ranks third ranks third on the team with a .374 batting average. She has totaled 65 hits with 17 doubles, three triples and three home runs. Schwalm has recorded 21 multi-hit games and produced a 12-game hitting streak at the end of the regular season.

Sullivan posted a .354 batting average and a .438 on base percentage (OBP) at the plate this spring. Her batting average, OBP, slugging percentage (.416), doubles (7), RBIs (30), hits and run scored are all career bests. Defensively, Sullivan recorded a .946 fielding percentage with 185 total chances at third base. Her 21-game reached base streak is a team best for the Raiders this season.
