SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Garrett Quinan became just the second man in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) history to win three league titles in the 10K as the Shippensburg University men's outdoor track & field team started out the 2026 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in strong fashion Thursday at Seth Grove Stadium.

Quinan won Thursday night's race with a time of 29:52.91 – the fastest by a PSAC Champion since Cal's Chris Clark in 2009 – as he pulled away from Josh Miller with eight laps remaining and held off the Golden Ram junior as he made a late surge with 300 meters to go.

He joins former California (Pa.) national champion Brian Ferrari as the only men to win three or more PSAC 10K titles – Ferrari won four-in-a-row from 1981-84. Ferrari's meet record of 29:33.53 (set in 1983) withstood another test Thursday night as Quinan, Miller and current Vulcan Jon Thrush were looking to improve upon current NCAA provisional-qualfiying season bests that have them on the bubble for the national championships.

The three men, who repeated as All-PSAC finishers, began the race trading pace duties over the first 4,000 meters.

Ryan Wolfe and Jaycen Conrad were making their PSAC 10K debuts on the night. Wolfe, who has normally run the 1,500 and 5K at the league championships, delivered a sixth-place time of 31:29.63. Conrad finished 15th.

Ridge Crispino, Donovan Kitchen and Gian Greggo each earned a place on the awards stand for the hammer throw. Crispino took fifth place, his best league finish to date, with a throw of 168 feet, 1 inch (51.23 meters). It is his third scoring performance in the hammer after a pair of seventh-place finishes the last two years.

Kitchen finished sixth, which his top throw landing one foot shorter than Crispino's. It is Kitchen's first scoring effort in the hammer. Greggo settled for eighth place with a mark of 159 feet, 5 inches (48.61 meters) that was his second straight place-winning performance.

Through the first five events of the decathlon, Tyler Rossi sits in second place with a score of 3,639 points while Noah Bankert is 11th with 2,973 points. Rossi achieved new personal bests in all five events – he began his day with a PR in the 100 meters of 11.41 seconds

Rossi followed that up with a huge personal best in the long jump (22 feet, 7 ¾ inches (6.90 meters)), the No. 2-shot put of the competition (40 feet, 4 ¼ inches (12.30 meters)), a clearance of 6 feet, 2 inches (1.88 meters) in the high jump and a 400-meter dash of 51.28 seconds.

Friday's competition begins at 10 a.m. with the resumption of the decathlon.
