SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- Shippensburg University senior Brenden Anderson was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Monday afternoon by the league office.

Anderson capped a memorable Senior Day by tossing a no-hitter in SU's 3-1 victory over Mansfield in Game 2 of a doubleheader Friday at Fairchild Field.

The right-hander took the ball for just his seventh career start and never relinquished and dominated over the course of seven frames. He recorded his first complete game on an efficient 87 pitches and totaled four punchouts.

Anderson's previous career-high in innings pitched was five, a feat he accomplished three times in his career (twice this season).

He retired the Mansfield lineup in order four times. The only blemishes on his pitching line were a walk and a pair of hit batters – one of which came around to score.

The outing was SU's first no-hitter since Gabe Mosser on March 17, 2018 (a 4-0 win over Pitt-Johnstown).

Anderson also authored 1.1 innings of scoreless relief work in a midweek matchup at Pitt-Johnstown, giving him a 1.08 earned run average over 8.1 total innings.

The Pitcher of the Week award is the first of Anderson's career and the first time an SU pitcher has won the weekly award this season. Ty Sherman (Apr. 13), Evan Shoffler (March 16, Feb. 17), AJ Wenrich (March 9) had garnered PSAC East Athlete of the Week honors earlier this spring.
