SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University lacrosse team will travel this week for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship Quarterfinal matchup against Slippery Rock that will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
 
Shippensburg (7-10, 4-8 PSAC East), the East No. 4 seed, is in the PSAC Tournament for the first time in 19 years – since Naomi Radio guided the 2007 squad to the conference quarterfinals.
 
Slippery Rock, the No. 1 seed from the Western Division, has the potential to host the PSAC Tournament after finishing the regular season with a perfect 17-0 record and a 10-0 mark in the Western Division. 
 
Series History:
* It will be the first meeting between Shippensburg and Slippery Rock since April 27, 2019. SRU has won the last five matchups in the series. The teams are tied 14-14 in the all-time head-to-head series.
* This will be the third all-time between the two teams in PSAC Tournament play. The most recent meeting was a 10-6 victory for Slippery Rock in 1980.
* Shippensburg is 2-16 all-time in the PSAC Tournament, with its only postseason victories coming in the inaugural tournament back in 1979.
