SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's outdoor track & field completed its regular season on a soggy and dreary Saturday with limited competition in the 21st edition of the Paul Kaiser Classic held at Seth Grove Stadium.
Emily Calamia and
Alyssa Wert finished 1-2 in the 200 meters in a race held late in the competition amidst less adverse conditions than those earlier in the day. Calamia ran 25.07 seconds, just two-tenths of a second off her PR, while Wert clocked in at 25.39 seconds.
Shaela Kruskie and
Victoria Bartholomew got in some solid training for their distance races next week with turns in the 3K. Kruskie won the event with a time of 10:24.68, while Bartholomew took fourth in 10:56.87.
Mary Stoltz won the 800 meters with a solid time of 2:19.66.
Lilah Drager once again just narrowly missed satisfying the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships standard of 2:21 – her third-place time was 2:21.97 (just six-tenths of a second off her PR).
Makayla Decker and
Caroline Mercer were the Raider pacesetters in the discus and each thrower narrowly missed their season best. Decker's best throw was a second-place mark of 133 feet, 9 inches (40.77 meters) while Mercer was sixth with a throw of 120 feet, 8 inches (36.79 meters).
Lauren Bellows led SU in the hammer with a third-place throw of 157 feet, 6 inches (48.02 meters). Mercer had a strong outing in that event as well, delivering a huge PR with a throw of 147 feet, 5 inches (44.94 meters).
Kyra Love paced SU in the shot with a put of 38 feet, 6 inches (11.73 meters).
Hannah Cassner took third in the javelin with a throw of 118 feet, 9 inches (36.20 meters).
Shippensburg will host the 2026 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships next Thursday through Saturday at Seth Grove Stadium.
