SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University freshman Izzy Slezak was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Women's Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon by the league office.

Slezak delivered new personal bests in both the 100 and 200 meters, winning both events Thursday in competition at the SU Mid-Week Invitational.

Each of her times ranks among the Top 3 in school history for the respective event. In the 100, Slezak ran 12.01 seconds with a legal wind – a new PR by .27 seconds – while in the 200, Slezak ran 24.54 seconds – a new PR by .24 seconds.

Slezak is now third all-time in school history in the 100 meters, trailing only Leah Graybill (11.68 seconds) and current teammate Aliyah Serrano (11.98 seconds), and now second all-time in the 200 meters, trailing only Graybill (23.46 seconds). She now ranks second in the PSAC in each event behind Cal's Loreena Manser, the only women's track athlete in the PSAC this season to achieve an NCAA provisional qualifier.

It is the first weekly award of Slezak's career and the third overall for the Raiders this outdoor season. Teammate and distant runner Shaela Kruskie has won the award twice (April 14 and March 31).
