RECAP: Lewis, Green shatter PSAC records on historic day for Men’s Track & Field at Midweek PR Bonanza

Lewis runs D2’s fastest 100-meter time this season (10.03 seconds); Green zooms through 200 in 20.89 seconds

4/17/2026 2:02:00 AM

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Gabriel Lewis and Ke'Aune Green broke the all-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) records in the 100 and 200 meters respectively on Thursday to highlight a historic day for the Shippensburg University men's outdoor track & field team at the Mid-Week PR Bonanza that was held at sunny and warm Seth Grove Stadium.

Lewis completed the 100 meters in 10.03 seconds, while Green completed the 200 meters in 20.89 seconds.

The 100-meter dash – the third event of the afternoon – delivered three of the Top 6 sprints in school history in one race, with Lewis and Green now ranking first and second respectively. The 200-meter dash occurred approximately 2 ½ hours later and more than maintained the momentum of its predecessor.

Both conference records were achieved with legal 1.9 wind readings.

Their individual efforts are broken down further in the event-group summary detailed below.

Overall, the Raiders compiled 17 new personal bests and recorded 27 performances that satisfied the PSAC Outdoor Championship qualifying standards on a day that was chock-full of highlights – but it was hard to deny that the performances of Lewis and Green stood out the most.

Below is a breakdown of Thursday's action by event group.

Sprints (100, 200 and 400 meters)

Lewis competed in one event Thursday and needed just 10 seconds to become, at the time, the second-fastest sprinter in all divisions of the NCAA.

He entered the day already holding Shippensburg's school record (10.31 seconds), but he exceeded that record and then some with his virtuoso performance. His .28-second improvement well surpasses the all-time PSAC record set last season by Slippery Rock's Kanye Thompson, who ran 10.15 seconds.

As of Sunday afternoon (April 19), Lewis's time is currently No. 9 spanning all NCAA Divisions – it leads all of NCAA Division II and is faster than any time in NCAA Division III as well. This weekend, seven D-1 performances were timed at 10.01 seconds or faster (three at the Mt. Sac Relays, four at Florida's Tom Jones Memorial). Penn State's Ajani Dwyer ran 9.96 seconds on March 27 at UCF.

In the same race, Green broke Lewis's old record by running 10.28 seconds. While an integral part of SU's conference-record setting 4x100-meter relay, it was just the second time in college that Green had run an individual 100-meter dash. It was an improvement of .27 seconds from his first go-around two weeks ago at George Mason.

Green moved all the way up to 12th on the NCAA Division II leaderboard with the performance. It puts him in an excellent position to join Lewis in competition at this year's NCAA Division II National Championships in the 100 meters, but based on recent history, Green might need to trim a couple more hundredths of a second to safely qualify at season's end.

But Green wasn't done. After tying Mansfield's Cahsid Raymond for the 200-meter PSAC record last week at Bucknell by running 20.96 seconds, Green grabbed sole possession of the record Thursday by improving to 20.89 seconds. It took Green just four collegiate meets to become the fastest 200-meter runner in the history of the PSAC.

Green currently sits 14th on the NCAA Division II performance list for the 200 meters with his conference record.

It was a loaded day of sprints for the Raiders.

Ni'male Greenwood enhanced his personal best in the 100 meters by .03 seconds, crossing the finish line in 10.52 seconds. Over the last three weeks, Greenwood has run 10.52, 10.74 and 10.55 seconds.

Greenwood moved up to the No. 6 position all-time in school history for the 100 meters. When including Lewis and Green's sprints, that means that the No. 1, No. 2 and the No. 6 all-time 100-meter performances in school history happened in the same race Thursday at Seth Grove Stadium.

Lavar Jackson delivered huge season bests in the 100 meters (10.60 seconds) and the 200 meters (21.37 seconds). Jackson was just one one-hundredth of a second off his PR in the 100 meters (set at last year's Mid-Week PR Bonanza) and just .03 seconds off his outdoor 200-meter PR that was achieved in 2024 at Bucknell.

Parker Smith delivered another improvement to his 400-meter dash personal best, running 48.42 seconds. Smith knocked another three-tenths of a second off his season best and sits fourth on the PSAC leaderboard for the 400 meters. Later in the day, Smith enhanced his personal best in the 200 meters to 21.89 seconds, making it two PRs on the day.

Mohamed Himmad came within six-tenths of a second of his 400-meter season best and PR, running 49.36 seconds. Himmad finished the day with a big improvement to his personal best in the 200 meters, running a strong time of 21.80 seconds that resulted in a PSAC Championships qualifier.

Jackson Sotosky, whose biggest moment of the day came in the long jump, ran the 100 meters for the first time and sprinted to a time of 11.15 seconds.

Hurdles (110 and 400-meter)

Isaiah Brightman had his best day as a collegian in the 110-meter hurdles, speeding to a time of 14.66 seconds that resulted in a fourth-place finish. His previous PR had been 14.72 seconds, set last season while running for Virginia Commonwealth. It was also a new season best by .36 seconds.

Brightman now ranks No. 10 all-time in school history in the 110-meter hurdles.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Brightman and Travis Wilk ran within .04 seconds of each other. Brightman took third in 55.31 seconds, while Wilk was fourth in 55.35 seconds. Wilk was just .04 seconds off his season best.

Mid-Distance (800 and 1,500 meters)

The only Raider to compete in a distance event was Owen Shrader, who started the 800 meters but was unable to finish. Shrader continues to work back from injury.

Distance (3K Steeplechase, 5K and 10K)

Shippensburg did not have any competitors in distance events.

Relays (4x100-meter, 4x400-meter)

Shippensburg did not have any entries in either relay.

Vertical Jumps (High Jump and Pole Vault)

Gilberto Raphael Ramos had a breakthrough performance in the pole vault – his finest moment yet in his freshman season.

Raphael Ramos entered the day having equaled the PSAC Championships standard (14 feet, 5 ¼ inches [4.40 meters]) – which was his top clearance in each of his past three meets. He began Thursday by entering at 13 feet, 11 ¼ inches (4.25 meters), succeeding on his first attempt, and then clearing the PSAC standard on his first attempt to make it four straight weeks getting over the bar at 4.40 meters.

He kept the momentum going, establishing a new personal best by clearing 14 feet, 11 inches (4.55 meters) on his first attempt. In rhythm, Raphael Ramos then cleared 15 feet, 5 inches (4.70 meters) on his first attempt – giving him four successful clearances without a miss – two of which were new personal bests.

After one miss at the next height (15 feet, 11 inches [4.85 meters]), Raphael Ramos passed his final attempts and ended his day – finishing with a new PR of more than a foot and the No. 10 all-time mark in school history. It was the best performance by an SU pole vaulter outdoors since Robert Lissner (15 feet, 7 inches [4.75 meters]) in 2023, and he now sits fourth on the PSAC performance list.

Joe Ryan cleared 13 feet, 5 ¼ inches (4.10 meters) on his second attempt.

SU did not have any entries in the high jump.

Horizontal Jumps (Long, Triple)

Jak Kearney had the best day of his collegiate outdoor career in the long jump, coming within a centimeter of the NCAA provisional qualifying standard with a new personal best. His final two attempts both exceeded 24 feet – with his sixth and final of the day being a mark of 24 feet, 0 ¾ inches (7.33 meters). All six of his attempts on the day were 6.95 meters or farther.

Sotosky finished second to Kearney in the long jump, boosting his personal best to 23 feet, 10 ¼ inches (7.27 meters). He achieved that mark on his second attempt of the day. It was his second seven-meter performance of the season.

Kearney now ranks No. 6 all-time in school history in the long jump, while Sotosky ranks No. 8 all-time. The duo now ranks 1-2 on the PSAC performance list.

Jabrie Gaymon delivered his best triple jump of the season, placing fifth among a deep field of talented competitors. Gaymon improved his season best by more than a foot. His mark of 46 feet, 3 ½ inches (14.11 meters) was just 6 ½ inches off his outdoor personal best.

Throws (Shot, Discus, Hammer, Javelin)

Donovan Kitchen recorded two new outdoor personal bests Thursday. Kitchen paced the Raiders in the hammer throw with a fifth-place throw of 167 feet, 10 inches (51.15 meters), while his second-place shot put of 53 feet, 3 inches (16.23 meters) enhanced his top outdoor mark. He also led SU in the discus, placing second with a throw of 162 feet, 3 inches (49.46 meters).

Gian Greggo won the shot put – his top throw Thursday was a mark of 55 feet, 11 ¼ inches (17.05 meters). Greggo also placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 153 feet, 4 inches (46.74 meters).

Colin Melhorn also ended the day with two new personal bests. His sixth-place discus throw of 149 feet, 2 inches (45.48 meters) and his hammer throw of 157 feet, 11 inches (48.13 meters) set new PRs. He also made it a 1-2-3 finish for the Raiders in the shot put, as his top mark was 51 feet, 5 ½ inches (15.68 meters).

Ridge Crispino improved his PSAC qualifier and season best in the discus to 147 feet, 1 inch (44.83 meters) with an eighth-place finish, and also his season best in the hammer to 166 feet, 5 inches (50.72 meters). Colin Daub improved his season best in the discus to 142 feet, 1 inch (43.32 meters).

Jackson Hersh had another strong outing in the javelin, winning the event with a top throw of 219 feet, 5 inches (66.87 meters). The performance is just five feet off his PR and SU No. 3 all-time effort set earlier this season at Lynchburg. Jacob McNerney upped his javelin best to 166 feet, 9 inches (50.82 meters).
