SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Shippensburg University's Shaela Kruskie was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon by the league office.
 
Kruskie put forth another SU all-time Top 10 performance on Saturday night by completing the invitational section of the 5K at Bucknell's Bison Outdoor Classic in 17:05.19. The performance ranks her No. 6 all-time in school history. It was her second collegiate outdoor 5K overall; Saturday night's run was an improvement of 1 minute, 47 seconds from her previous effort last April on the home track.
 
It is the fastest 5K time in the PSAC this season by a five-second margin.
 
It is the second weekly outdoor award for Kruskie this season. She was previously recognized for her exploits in the 10K on March 31.
