Tyler Rossi and Noah Bankert completed the decathlon Friday, representing the Shippensburg University men's outdoor track & field team in action at Susquehanna's Riverhawk Multi held at Doug Arthur Stadium.
 
Susquehanna's multi meet is divided into two sections based on the amount of competitors: there is the orange "elite" section and the maroon section.
 
Rossi, currently working through an injury, scored 5,863 points in the orange section as he completed the first outdoor multi of his career. He delivered the No. 2 performances Friday in both the discus (127 feet, 6 inches (38.87 meters)) and the 1,500 meters (4:53.32).
 
Bankert totaled 5,204 points in the maroon section to wrap up his fifth career decathlon. He came within .17 seconds of his PR in the 110-meter hurdles by running 16.69 seconds; enhanced his PR in the discus to 84 feet, 10 inches (25.86 meters) and unleashed the top javelin throw of the competition with a heave of 144 feet, 7 inches (44.07 meters).
 
Both performances lock in their scores for qualification for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships that will take place at the end of the month at Seth Grove Stadium.
 
The full track & field squad will compete Saturday and Sunday at Bucknell.
