SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University sophomore Gianna Cimino (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Softball Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon by the league office.
 
In a 2-2 week that included run-rule wins over IUP and No. 24 Pace, Cimino hit a team-best .571 with two home runs, a double and seven RBIs.
 
On the defensive side, Cimino did not commit an error on 13 defensive chances.
 
Cimino was 4-for-7 with a home run, double, three RBIs and three runs scored against IUP. She was 4-for-7 with a home run and four RBIs against Pace.
 
The weekly award is the second of the season for the Raiders after Sarah Sabocsik was named Athlete of the Week last week. This marks the first PSAC Eastern Division Athlete of the Week award in Cimino's career.
