Shippensburg’s Gabe Mosser is taking part in big league camp for the Seattle Mariners after signing a minor league contract with the organization during the offseason.

He pitched two scoreless frames and recorded one strikeout in his first spring appearance against the Dodgers on Feb. 23.

Mosser is entering his eighth season of professional baseball. Last year, the right hander made 25 starts between Double-A and Triple-A for the Philadelphia Phillies. He posted a 6-9 record and fanned a total of 127 batters in 124.1 innings.

Mosser won a pair of all-conference and all-region awards during his time as a Raider. He registered a 16-9 record and a 2.94 ERA in his final two seasons at Fairchild Field – striking out 179 batters in 153 innings while yielding just five home runs against.
