2/7/2026 9:10:00 PM

Izzy Slezak and Lauren Bellows were among the Raiders who achieved new personal bests Saturday as the Shippensburg University women's indoor track & field team delivered several noteworthy performances despite a small contingent at Penn State's Sykes & Sabock Challenge.

Slezak improved her collegiate best in the 200 meters to 25.29 seconds, a new best by .23 seconds that moves her from the No. 8 spot to the No. 4 spot on SU's all-time Top 10 list in the event. The sprint also moved Slezak to the No. 3 spot on this season's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships performance list for the 200.

Bellows achieved an improvement in the weight throw for the second straight week and the third time overall in the last four weeks. Her seventh-place throw of 51 feet, 11 inches (15.82 meters) on Saturday is a new PR by three inches and affirms her No. 9 ranking all-time among Raiders in the event. She currently ranks third in the PSAC in the weight throw.

Mary Stoltz, who had delivered a pair of 800-meter runs this season that clocked in at 2:22 on Bucknell's flat track, improved her collegiate best to 2:19.05 – resulting in an eighth-place finish. Stoltz moved up to fourth on the PSAC performance list in the 800.

The 400-meter runners had an excellent day, with Alyssa Wert leading the SU pack by crossing the finish line in 57.88 seconds. That time is just .32 seconds off her PR that ranks eighth in school history.

Emily Calamia continued her excellent season by running a new indoor personal best of 58.13 seconds, while Melanie Barger clocked in at 1:00.91. Wert and Calamia currently slot fourth and seventh respectively on the PSAC performance list.

Madison Malcolm completed the 60-meter hurdles in 9.02 seconds – a season best that is just .05 seconds off her personal best that ranks sixth in school history. Malcolm moved up the No. 5 spot in the PSAC with Saturday's run.

Calamia, Barger, Malcolm and Wert finished the day with a fourth-place time of 3:56.40 in the 4x400-meter relay. It is SU's fastest 4x4 relay time since the 2024 PSAC Indoor Championships.

Shippensburg returns to action Friday and Saturday with two days of competition at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational hosted by Liberty.
