The Shippensburg University field hockey team traveled to Harrisburg and the State Capitol on Wednesday as a guest of Senator Greg Rothman.
 
The team was present on the senate floor and was recognized by Rothman during session. Rothman serves residents of the 34th Senate District, which includes Cumberland and Perry Counties and northern Dauphin County.
 
After their time on the senate floor and at the completion of Wednesday's session, the team gathered for lunch hosted by Rothman.
 
Shippensburg won its sixth NCAA Division II National Championship in school history in November with a 3-2 overtime victory over Newberry in the title game. The Raiders finished the season with a 20-3 record and having also won the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship.
