SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University's
Tommy Crum Jr. was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon by the league office.
Crum Jr. recorded a new personal best in the mile yesterday at Widener's Schuylkill Showcase, winning the event with a time of 4:07.69 that ranks him atop the PSAC performance list in the event and is currently the fastest non-provisional qualifier this season (it currently ranks 34th on the NCAA Division II performance list).
The performance also moved Crum Jr. up five spots on SU's all-time rankings for the mile, from No. 9 to No. 4. It is more than three seconds faster than his previous best at Liberty last season was just a tenth of a second off the pace of the No. 3 performance all-time at SU, that of his distance coach,
Steve Spence.
It is the first weekly track award of Crum's career; he has previously earned two PSAC weekly awards in cross country (Oct. 1, 2024 and Sept. 30, 2025).
It is the second weekly track award of the season for the Raiders, accompanying the honor bestowed upon
Gabriel Lewis back on Dec. 8.
