SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University sophomore shortstop Evan Shoffler was named the inaugural Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Baseball Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon by the league office.

Shoffler, making his debut at the top of the SU lineup, posted a .546 batting average and a .642 on base percentage in the Raiders' three game series sweep of St. Michaels this past weekend.

The SU shortstop went 6-for-11 at the plate, totaling seven runs scored, five RBIs, three steals and three walks.

Shoffler had multi-hit efforts in all three games. He was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader, and followed that up with a three-run, three-RBI effort in the nightcap – an outing that included his first two collegiate home runs.

It is the first weekly honor of Shoffler's career. He is the first SU player to win conference recognition since Jack Robinson won back-to-back PSAC East Pitcher of the Week honors on Apr. 28 and May 5 of last season, and the first SU player to win Athlete of the Week since Austin Baal on May 8, 2023.
