The Shippensburg University wrestling team picked up its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) dual meet win of the season during a 2-1 day Saturday at the East Stroudsburg Quad Meet at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Shippensburg (5-10, 1-4 PSAC) started the day win a 21-19 win over the host Warriors. They then split a pair of non-league duals, falling to NYU, 35-14, before concluding the day with a 20-18 win over New Jersey City.

The Raiders won six matches – five via decision – to pull off the close victory over ESU. SU got off to a good start at the lighter weights, netting three consecutive decisions from
Kyle von Schmidt at 133,
Cole Coffin at 141 and
Mike Trainor at 149.

Nick Delp picked up vital bonus points with a pin of ESU's Anthony Lawrence at 165, while
Kyler Everly and
Diesel Koser won close decisions at 174 and 197 to seal the dual meet win.

It was all or nothing for both teams against NYU, as two squads teams traded bonus points in all ten bouts. Trainor, Delp and Koser earned tech falls for SU.

Coffin,
Anthony Lavish, Delp, Everly and
Cole Lang helped the Raiders get past NJCU in the finale. Lavish, Delp, Everly and Lang earned bonus points, including a tech fall from Everly at 174.

Delp, now ranked ninth in the nation at 165 pounds, finished 3-0 with a pin and two major decisions Sunday, improving his unblemished record to 16-0 on the season. Coffin, Trainor, Everly and Koser finished the day with a pair of wins.

Shippensburg next hosts Felician in a non-league dual Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Heiges Field House.
