SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University's Tommy Crum Jr. was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon by the league office.

Crum Jr. won Gettysburg's Aubrey Shenk Invitational on Saturday with a victorious 8K time of 24:18.6 that is less than four seconds off his personal best.

He was the fastest runner in a field of 471 overall competitors that spanned all three NCAA divisions, running clubs and unattached runners. It was also Crum Jr.'s best race of the season, as he ran 38 seconds faster than two weeks ago at the heat-riddled Paul Short Run.

Shippensburg won the meet as well, posting a team score of 70 points to triumph over 43 other schools. SU edged Johns Hopkins, currently ranked No. 3 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III national poll, by a 14-point margin.

It is the first weekly award of the season for Shippensburg and the first time that a Raider runner has earned the award since current student assistant coach Garrett Quinan was honored on Oct. 7, 2025.

It is the third weekly cross country award of Crum Jr.'s career (Oct. 1, 2024, Sept. 30, 2025) and the sixth overall weekly award for Crum Jr. spanning his three sports of competition (Feb. 2, 2026 and Feb. 16, 2026 in indoor track & field; April 14, 2026 in outdoor track & field).
