SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's swimming team used a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay – the final event of Friday night's tri-meet – to get past East Stroudsburg and earn a split in action at Donald N. Miller Pool.

Shippensburg defeated East Stroudsburg, 104.5 – 98.5, while Bloomsburg defeated both squads (150-53 over SU, and 134-69 over ESU).

Four Raider performances on the night satisfied the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships qualifying standard. The first was achieved by Ella Nick in the 50-yard freestyle, who completed her swim in 25.22 seconds.

Olivia Carver tallied two on the night – swimming the 100-yard freestyle in 55.67 seconds and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:27.80.

Katherine Green was the runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke with a solid time of 1:08.66.

Elyse Arnold, Ann Secord, Michelle Kubiak and Nick finished the meet with a time of 1:43.25 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Ella McGuckin delivered a solid early-season time of 11:17.54 in the 1,000-yard freestyle, placing second. McGuckin came back later to pace the Raiders in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:05.27.

Shippensburg is back in action in two weeks when it hosts Fairmont State and California (Pa.) for a tri-meet on Homecoming Friday at 5 p.m. at Donald N. Miller Pool.
