SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University Athletics has confirmed the hiring of Nick Delp as an assistant wrestling coach for the 2026-27 season.

Delp stays on with the Raiders while transitioning from wrestler to assistant coach after representing SU at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships last spring.

Delp finished with a 22-2 overall record in 2025-26, including six pins, two tech falls and five major decisions.

He went undefeated during the regular season and placed second at the 2026 NCAA Division II Super Region 1 Championships at 165 pounds, becoming SU's first national qualifier in three years (2022-23).

He is two-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) honoree and a two-time National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Academic All-American. Before Shippensburg, Delp was a team captain and two-time Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) place-winner at Division I Bucknell University.

Delp replaces Luke Etter, who will remain with the team this fall as a volunteer.

Delp earned a master's degree in Public Administration from Shippensburg in May 2026.
