The Shippensburg University Women's Soccer team picked up a point on the road with a hard-fought draw against East Stroudsburg on Saturday in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action at a chilly Eiler-Martin Stadium, 1-1.
Shippensburg (3-8-3, 1-8-2 PSAC East) weathered 19 East Stroudsburg (5-6-3, 3-6-3) shots defensively and picked up a game-tying first half own goal courtesy of a
Gabrielle Walker corner kick.
Walker's corner was delivered into a dangerous area inside the eighteen, glancing off the head of an ESU defender and sailing into the back of the net in the 22nd minute to cancel out Kali O'Connell's 15th minute tally.
Shippensburg maintained an 8-2 edge in corner kicks in the match.
Kirstin Brown kept the Warriors at bay in the second half, totaling seven saves.
The Raiders drew East Stroudsburg by the same 1-1 scoreline in their previous meeting Sept. 19 at David See Field.
Shippensburg returns to action Wednesday at home against Mansfield at 4 p.m.
