The Shippensburg University women's cross country team delivered a solid performance on a cool Saturday morning at Gettysburg, placing third out of 46 teams in competition at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational that was hosted by the Bullets.

SU posted a team score of 165 points, finishing only behind Johns Hopkins (43 points), which is currently ranked No. 4 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III national poll, and Lafayette (60 points), an NCAA Division I program. Saint Francis (202 points) and Towson (213 points) rounded out the Top 5.

Makenzie Wamsher made her Raider debut and delivered a strong first showing – pacing the squad with a 6K time of 22:05.3. Wamsher finished 25th overall and was the fourth-fastest freshmen in a field of 452 total runners.

Wamsher was one of 10 Raiders who established or enhanced a new 6K collegiate best in Saturday's race.

Mya Trotty was just four places behind Wamsher, serving as SU's No. 2 runner with a time of 22:21.4.

Victoria Bartholomew and Brooke Miller each cracked the Top 50. Bartholomew finished 42nd in 22:39.3, while Miller finished exactly five seconds later as the team's No. 4 runner.

For Miller, it was her first time under 23 minutes in a 6K and a new PR by 17 seconds.
