The Shippensburg University women's swimming team returned to action Tuesday night with a dual meet at IUP in which the Crimson Hawks bested the Raiders by a 147-58 margin at Pidgeon Natatorium.

Olivia Carver won the 200-yard butterfly by touching the wall in 2:17.69. The swim was just two seconds off her personal best set at Gettysburg last year and was one of seven performances on the night by the Raiders that satisfied the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships qualifying standards.

Carver came back later in the meet to pace the Raiders in the 500-yard freestyle, placing third with a PSAC cut of 5:27.78, and swam the second leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay. Elyse Arnold, Carver, Ann Secord and Ella Nick finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:42.40.

Nick was the runner-up in the 100-yard freestyle, swimming 55.82 seconds, while Arnold delivered SU's fastest time of the night in the 50-yard freestyle (26.32 seconds).

Katherine Green was the runner-up in the 200-yard breaststroke with a conference cut of 2:35.31. Secord, Green, Izzy Ketterer and Nick placed second in the 200-yard medley relay, opening the meet with a time of 1:52.18.

Eloise Mothersbaugh paced the Raiders in the 200-yard freestyle and the 200-yard backstroke with respective PSAC cuts of 2:01.99 and 2:15.88.

All three Raiders who swam the 200-yard butterfly satisfied the league standard; Bria Burkholder finished in 2:19.89 while Lia Richards touched the wall in 2:20.48.

Shippensburg returns to action at 5 p.m. Friday when it hosts California (Pa.) and Fairmont State for a Homecoming Weekend tri-meet at Donald N. Miller Pool.
