SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University redshirt-junior Markus Frank was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Men's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon by the league office.
 
Frank averaged 23.5 points and three steals in a pair of PSAC crossover road contests at Gannon and Clarion this past weekend.
 
The redshirt-junior contributed 26 points, seven rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot to help the Raiders to their first league win at Clarion Saturday.
 
The day before, Frank poured in 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting (64%) and recorded three steals at No. 10 Gannon.
 
His six total steals put him just seven away from 100 for his career.
 
It is his first-ever Defensive Athlete of the Week Award and the fourth overall conference weekly recognition of his career. He was previously named the PSAC East Athlete of the Week on Nov. 19, 2025, Nov. 19, 2024 and Dec. 4, 2023.
