Ashley Laukus was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon by the league office after recording a new personal best in the high jump on Saturday at Bucknell's Art Gulden Invitational.
Laukus eclipsed 5 feet, 7 ¼ inches (1.71 meters) on her first attempt at the height to cap off the best performance of her collegiate career. She moved from sixth place into second place all-time at Shippensburg, trailing only school-record holder Rebekah Newhart (5 feet, 7 ¾ inches in 2010).
She cleared five heights on the day, beginning at 5 feet, 1 inch (1.55 meters), with only one miss along the way. Laukus made three attempts to get over the bar at 5 feet, 8 inches (1.73 meters) but was unsuccessful.
The NCAA provisional qualifier puts Laukus into a tie for 12th place on the NCAA Division II national performance list.
It is the first PSAC weekly honor of Laukus's career. She is the first Raider to earn the PSAC Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award since
Riyah Whigham on Feb. 17, 2025.
