The Shippensburg University wrestling team placed six wrestlers on the podium at the Ken Ober Memorial Tournament Saturday at Elizabethtown College.
 
Kyle von Schmidt went 4-0 to claim the tournament's 133-pound title. Mike Trainor  placed third at 149 pounds, Cole Coffin finished in fourth place at 141, Diesel Koser earned fifth at 197, while Noah Gilgore (133) and Anthony Lavish (157) finished in sixth place.
 
Von Schmidt pinned his first two opponents, then grinded out a pair of close decisions in the semifinals and finals.
 
The freshman came back from being down 7-0 inside the first minute to beat Messiah's Tyler Ratlidge in the semis, using the riding time point to seal the 9-8 decision. He then scored the lone takedown in a 4-2 decision over E-Town's Corey Cope in the final.
 
Trainor finished 5-1 and picked up bonus points in all five of his wins, including a third period pin of Stevens Tech wrestler George Pavis in the third-place match.
 
Coffin, Koser, Gilgore and Lavish each picked up three victories Saturday. Additionally, Kyler Everly and Anthony DeAngelo both won three matches wrestling in the 174-pound weight bracket.
 
The Raiders posted a team score of 107 points, ranking fifth best in the competition.
 
Shippensburg returns to action Sunday, Feb 1 with a tri-meet hosted by East Stroudsburg starting at noon.
