SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The Shippensburg University softball team is ranked No. 7 in the inaugural 2026 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA)/GoRout Division II Poll.

It is just the third time since 2014 that the Raiders have been ranked in the national poll.

Shippensburg is one of three Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) schools to be featured. No. 15 East Stroudsburg and No. 16 Kutztown also ranked in the Top 25.

SU ended its 2025 campaign ranked No. 8 after earning its third-ever trip to the NCAA Division II Softball Championships. The Raiders finished with the season with 36 wins, which tied for the most since 2006.

SU defeated No. 16 East Stroudsburg at regionals and No. 14 Kutztown at super regionals before punching its ticket to the NCAA Championships.

The Raiders return 17 players from the 2025 Atlantic Region Championship squad.

Shippensburg opens its season on Feb. 27 in North Carolina where it will face Catawba before facing Wingate on Feb. 28.
